Focused on Unlocking the Cure to Type 1 Diabetes in Youth
NASHVILLE, TN, September 14, 2016 – Tiny’s Construction, LLC announced today the launch of the new not-for-profit organization called Keys4aCure. Owners William Z. Fay (Tiny) and his wife Tiffany established the 501c3 non-profit organization to accelerate finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes in children.
William Fay promised his son, Jaxson, that he would do everything in his power to end Type 1 Diabetes forever, and with that promise, Keys4aCure, launched the Type 1 Diabetes movement. Our goal is to be the world's largest grassroots network of Juvenile Type 1 Diabetes activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all, and energize science to find the cures.
“I am committed to my son and I will do everything in my power to keep my promise,” William Fay states. “By collecting unwanted and used keys we can recycle them and use the proceeds to fund research to accelerate finding a cure. In utilizing the resources and connections in my business world we want to bring awareness to other parents and help make it easier for them to deal with the daily struggles of this disease. Ultimately our goal is to find a cure so that my son and others will no longer have to live dependent on daily injections and we can live in a world free of Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes.”
Keys4aCure’s was formed to help make a difference in advancing Type 1 Diabetes research by funding grants to laboratories, universities and medical centers who are performing groundbreaking studies in the effort to cure Type 1 Diabetes.
By working with partners like the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Keys4aCure, through the donation of unwanted keys, will be able to help raise public awareness about Type 1 Diabetes and its effects on youth, families, and society: while working to bring hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder.
“The money Keys4aCure donates to JDRF will fund life-changing research to cure, treat, and prevent type 1 diabetes (T1D). JDRF is the organization that will turn Type One into Type None and we welcome the opportunity to partner with the Fay family and work towards our common goal of creating a world without T1D,” says Mary Lyn Schuh, Executive Director for the Middle Tennessee Chapter of JDRF.
After years of educating themselves, not only on the disease, but how to live with the challenges it brings, the Fay’s chose to use their knowledge of recycling to bring about awareness of the disease. By collecting old and unused keys and recycling them to support the cause, they want to share the seriousness of this chronic autoimmune disease.
“We are passionate about bringing about a cure so that so many children, like Jaxson, living with this disease can lead normal lives like other youth,” says Co-founder Tiffany Fay.
